Deep in the mountains of Colorado there is a place where the winter temperatures are frigid, not just cold, but utterly bone chilling. In February a very warm day is 20 degrees and an average night time temp is -30. Just outside this wonderland (seemingly uninhabitable place of Gunnison, Colorado) is Blue Mesa Lake. When the conditions are just perfect, there’s no snow and the lake has frozen solid with these outer space type of temperatures and the lake ice turns to glass. Smooth, solid, and the ice goes on for miles. Skating on the lake is an adventure, the ice is alive, it thunders and booms and it moves. You can skate for miles! This day was picture perfect, cold with a slight breeze, and we just happened to bring a wedding dress, a lovely lady, and our cameras out to go skating on the lake! Perfect! Here are the results of our bridal portrait out on the ice.

I will remember the last image in this post the next time you give me a hard time for shooting HDR!
That being said, this is some nice work!
Thanks, Vuji! A little HDR once in a while is good for the soul!
